Review: The Makeup Club Matte Lipsticks

The Makeup Club is a relatively new brand to the scene, they launched mid-year and their product range currently consists of six matte lipsticks and six shine lipsticks.

I’d not heard of this brand until they sent a blogger discount code to my inbox – so I took the plunge and decided to buy all six lipsticks – with the discount it came to just under £20, which I personally think is a bargain for six shades! To show you today I have the six matte lipsticks, as mattes are definitely my go to but they have more stunning shine shades too!

Packaging

TMC1The overall look of the brand I adore, sleek monchromatic packaging it’s super modern and will never age which I think is perfect. As for the lipsticks themselves, the box they come in feels really nice – it isn’t just super cheap card it has a waxy feel to it (a bit like the Nars packaging). The elements in the lipstick packaging could be a little better quality, they aren’t as smooth as more expensive brands (naturally) but I’m sure that is an element that will improve over time as the ranges are refined. For a start up product and the price it’s expected and the quality is 100% there. Another element as an ex-student make up artist is that the expiration dates are on the bottom of the lipsticks!! Like can all brands do this please!

Product

TMC3More importantly than the packaging, the product. I can give or take packaging if the product is worth it – in this case the quality is phenominal for the price! Super opaque shades with one to two swipes depending on the shade, they aren’t patchy what so ever! You can most definitely tell time has gone into finding a good product that is worth selling. As you can see from the images, all the shades are extremely pigmented! Once on the lips it does dry down but not fully – which again is great as it keeps your lips nice and hydrated rather than drying them out like a liquid matte lipstick would typically do. One downside I would say is that they don’t smell all that great, a little bit of a fragrance would make them that tiny but better but these are still incredible lip products that you 100% need in your collection!

Final Thoughts

You need these lipsticks! I can really see these becoming a holy grail product of mine and I cannot wait to see the future relases from the brand! Also for the price you cannot go wrong! You can purchase the lipsticks individually if all six shades aren’t your thing and they are just £7.99 each!

Thank you so much for all the support lately, I will see you again soon with another post!
